VILLA 1B, QUINTA DA SAUDADE

Villa 1b is a high quality, good sized, semi-detached villa situated on the Quinta da Saudade which is a small tranquil development five miles west of Albufeira and only forty minutes drive from Faro airport.  There are twenty-five privately owned villas set in approximately thirty acres and situated on a hillside amongst orange, almond and olive trees.  From the villas, there are views over the southwest coastline and open land.

The Quinta (which means farm) has two swimming pools, one larger pool with a separate shallow end for smaller children plus a very attractive kidney-shaped pool that is extremely peaceful and ideal for a post-lunch snooze!  In addition, there is a separate children’s play area with its own paddling pool.  Other facilities include a hard tennis court, mini-golf, petanque and table tennis.

There are Riding Stables at the Quinta with fabulous horses that can be taken out for gallops across the dunes or slow hacks through the countryside.

The original farmhouse has been converted into a quality bar and restaurant.  In the summer months there is a poolside bar that serves light lunches throughout the day and has extremely jolly barbecues on Saturdays.

The nearby golf, surfing, fishing and bird watching along with many places of interest make this a haven for adults (the Quinta is situated a mile from the famous Salgados Golf).  Local places of interest include the historical town of Silves and the mountains of Monchique, while the beaches, Zoomarine, water parks and Quinta facilities give children an idyllic holiday.

There are many superb beaches within one to four miles.

The Quinta is an excellent place to stay at any time with its year round temperatures.  It is a place to either relax or use as a base for those who wish to tour the Algarve.  Due to steps leading up to the villa, this unfortunately makes it unsuitable for wheelchairs.

To help you with any questions or concerns, the Quinta has its own friendly management service that is available at the office on site.  Maid service is provided during the week.

The  Quinta da Saudade villa has 2 bedrooms, one with twin beds and a spacious en-suite bathroom and the other a twin with space for a third bed should it be necessary.  There is a second bathroom adjacent to this.

There is a fully equipped modern kitchen with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

The sitting-room/dining area has satellite television and a wood-burning stove for winter occupation.  There are sliding doors out to the front terrace and stairs down to the garden with a built-in barbecue.  This terrace is a secluded area for sunbathing.

The villa has a wireless broadband connection and air-conditioning.  There is an ipod docking system.

All windows have fly screens, wall safes in the bedroom and a plentiful supply of books and games.  All linen and towels are provided (except beach towels).

The terraces have patio tables and chairs with built-in seats.  The garden is secluded with sun loungers plus sitting and eating area.  The grounds of the Quinta are beautifully landscaped with an abundance of trees and flowers.

Wood and electricity are charged as extras during the Winter months.
