VILLA 11B, QUINTA DA SAUDADE

Villa 11B is a two-bedroom semi-detached villa located on the private Quinta da Saudade estate, seven kilometers west of Albufeira.

The Quinta was originally a working farm set in a river valley and the development of some 26 villas set on different levels now occupies 25 acres of this tranquil hillside location.

The villa, with modern kitchen and bathroom, still retains its rustic charm. It is fully furnished, has two twin bedrooms, sitting/dining room with television and DVD player and benefits from a sofa bed.  The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas/electric hob, microwave oven, radio/CD player and a washing machine is housed just outside the kitchen.

The villa has satellite television.

The large terrace which leads from the sitting room has a built-in barbecue  table and chairs for alfresco dining, sun loungers and umbrellas.  From the terrace and from the roof terrace, views are provided of the sea, the nearby lagoon, the Quinta and surrounding hillsides.

Maid service is provided and all bed linen and towels for the villa are included.  Clients are requested to bring their own towels for beach and pool use.   A welcome food pack is provided on arrival.  For winter occupancy, heating is from a wood burning stove and electric radiators.

The Quinta has its own restaurant/bar, two swimming pools (one with pool bar for drinks and snacks during high season), tennis court, mini golf, children’s play area (with paddling pool) and working stables for horse riding.  All of this set in an area of orange grove, almond, olive, carob and pomegranate trees.  Nearby facilities include local restaurants, golf, fishing, surfing, bird watching, and walking. Beautiful sandy beaches with their own beach bars are within a few minutes’ drive.

The Quinta da Saudade villas is located in Vale da Parra, approximately five miles from the popular town of Albufeira.  The nearest beach, Praia Grande, is some 3.5 km long, adjacent to which is Salgados Golf Course.  A large lagoon separated from the sea by sand dunes is a famous refuge for migrating birds.

The area is dotted with quality restaurants and there are plenty of licensed snack bars too.  Shopping for provisions is easy in the local mini markets.  In nearby Guia town (famous for inventing piri piri chicken) there is ‘Algarve Shopping’ a large modern shopping complex which also includes cinema (with English language films) and ten pin bowling.  Zoomarine is a visitor attraction with performing aquamarine mammals – sea lions, seals and dolphins.  A new shark pool, displays by birds of prey, and parrots complement these together with Ferris wheel, various rides, etc.
